One of the concerns of video games is the theme of a game. Recent news report address that some of the video games might generate negative impact to young gamers. It is because the game involves violence unethical and illegal behaviors. For example, a game named Grand Theft Auto (GTA) allows gamers to do illegal things such as killing people or robbery. Some news articles have a concern that these games would give a wrong message to the children that they would think doing illegal things is fine in the reality. As a result, some people would ask, why the video games company would create a game that would send a wrong message to the people? Below is the path of the article from 60 Minutes:
"If you start saying that we're going to sue people because one individual out there read their book or played their game and decided to become a criminal, there is no stopping point," says Smith. "It's a huge new swath of censorship that will be imposed on the media."
Despite its violence, or because of it, the fact is that millions of people like playing Grand Theft Auto. Steve Strickland can’t understand why.
"The question I have to ask the manufacturers of them is, 'Why do you make games that target people that are to protect us, police officers, people that we look up to -- people that I respect -- with high admiration,'" says Strickland.
