During the late 90s, there has a competition between Sega and Sony.
When Sega release its Dreamcast (DC) to the market in the late 90s, The Sony Play Station (PS) was having a hard time in sales due to the technology differences between PS and DC. However, when Sony releases the Play Station 2 (PS2) to the market, the DC was facing a great competition from the PS2. As the PS2 has more advance capability in picture and features of multimedia such as DVD player. Sega decided to discontinue the production of the DC. The company steps down the manufacturer of video game consoles and more focus on software.
