I remember when I was in lower school (the late 80s), the nature of the video games move to another level. It is because of the technology was more advance, video games became more popular in the society. It is because the hardware of a video game becomes smaller that it can fit to every household. Nevertheless, the price of a video game console is cheap that people can afford it. Even though the video game was still base on 2D, but the creator start to put themes into a video game. As a result, it was more entertaining for people to play and the video game industry started to expand to a new level. Specifically, the industry started to expand its market from local to global. One of the great examples of the development in the video game industry would be the Japanese video game industry.
For example, the picture below is the Nintendo Entertainment System released in Japan in 1983 and later the world in 1985 - 1987.
